We are excited to announce our academic section at the 2025 Sport Lawyers Association (SLA) Conference that is to be held May 15 – 17, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee Presenters will be able to attend the remainder of the SLA conference. SLA is a non-profit, international, professional organization whose common goal is the understanding, advancement and ethical practice of sports law. There are over 1,000 current members: practicing lawyers, law educators, law students, and other professionals with an interest in law relating to professional and amateur sports. The purpose of the academic extension of SLA is to bring industry and the academy together and to introduce SLA membership to the exciting research conducted on sport law topics. The academic section of the conference will take place during the full conference on Wednesday, June 14th at 3:00 pm Central. Those interested in submitting will have until March 1, 2025 to submit full papers to Thomas Baker at tab3@uga.edu. Papers will be reviewed based on their relevance and contribution to the field of sport law. Acceptance notifications will be sent no later than April 1, 2025
Only papers that have not been published by May, 2025 are eligible for consideration. All presenters must also be registrants for the 2025 SLA Conference. The review process will be highly selective because the time period for presentations is very limited.
